Winter in the Library

As the cold weather arrived many, many students found the library a warm place to be at breaks and lunchtimes. There were tempting winter reads and a couple of new initiatives to help keep everyone focused on reading and learning.

Wednesday lunchtimes the library is now just for those wanting a place to read silently. Many took up the quiet reading space to get stuck into the reading challenges which happened in Term 3 for Years 9 and 10.

This year students can also challenge themselves to 'Bookopoly' a game created to guide the students out of their usual book comfort zone and broaden their reading horizons. After a big sort out of our fiction collection students were also able to take home books for their shelves which are no longer at the library.

Also, Friday lunchtimes are 'device-free'! Along with the books and magazines, the library has also invested in board games and colouring books to compliment 'device free' Fridays.

In our bookclub  we had fun writing spotify playlists for some of our favourite books and we were looking forward to bringing LPHS our 'poem in your pocket day'.
