In the New Zealand Secondary School Athletics Champs in December 2019, Zack Hibbert gained a silver medal in Junior Hammer and Nico Alvarez Rey Virag was a finalist in the 400 and 800 metres.

Three teams traveled to Wanaka in early February to compete in the Otago Secondary Schools Triathlon Champs. Our U19 mixed team of Rebecca Dalphin (swim), Viviane Dalphin (Bike) and Nico Alvarz Rey Virag (run) were second in the U19 mixed team event. Our two U16 mixed teams finished in the middle of the field. Everyone enjoyed the very hot day and the dip in the lake before the long drive back to Dunedin. Thanks to Mica Goldsmith Lonie for supporting the team and acting as a race marshall.

Anna Bergstrom and Phoebe Guile Hughes competed in the Otago Secondary School Tennis Championships in Div 1, coming 3rd and qualified to compete at the South Island Secondary School Cup in Timaru where they also came 3rd.

Our Handball, Futsal, Sailing and Athletics team are all training for national and regional Tournaments in March.

Logan Park continues to provide a wide range of sporting opportunities for our students with nearly 100 students playing after school futsal, 12 tennis teams and Petanque proving to be a growing sport.

Congratulations to our wonderful new Sports Prefects who make up our Student Sports Council. Head Boy of Sport Matthew Cowles and Head Girls of Sport Mae Rose Wills along with Daniel Cowles, Amasio Jutel, Philip Yeardley, Jaden Cooper, Maggie Gorman, Helen Ruan, Rebecca Dalphin and Laura Graham are already busily organising events. The Lunchtime Sports programme started at the end of February with Interhouse Dodgeball which will run for the rest of Term. With time to spare, they held a game of Yr 13's vs the rest and lots of fun was had by all.

Our school athletics was held in February and it was good to see high rates of participation and competition in both track and field events as well as a celebration of House spirit. Aoraki House were the overall winners with Clayton and Omimi second equal and Toroa close behind.

Thanks to Warwick Kain, Head of Physical Education; Frankie Vella Head of Sports and all of our teaching team for organising Athletics Day.
