Satellite Volleyball Championship

On Monday the 23rd of March the Senior A Girls volleyball team left for Christchurch to compete in the Satellite Volleyball Championship (SVC) tournament.

The tournament consisted of 11 teams from the South Island including Dunedin, Timaru, and Christchurch. We all improved dramatically as individuals, and as a team throughout the 3 days we played. We had a few close games and we even won a set off the team that placed 2nd in the whole tournament. As a team, we improved our level of focus in game play and reading the play of the other team. This meant we were more prepared for what the other team was going to do next. We also saw the confidence throughout the team grow, and we became increasingly more encouraging and supportive of each other with each point. Along with this, we saw some great spikes, serves, blocks and other amazing plays from the girls in our team. As a result, we victoriously won our last game, placing 10th out of 11 teams at the tournament!

We had fun both on and off court on our time away, whether it be in the pool, playing Consequences, going to the supermarket, and spending time together.

This was overall an amazing and fun experience. Thanks to Mrs Frost and Ms Vella for taking us to Christchurch, and making this tournament happen.
