Film tutorial by Kristan Mouat

Film Club, Animation, Anime and Computing!

Film Club tutor, Craig Storey held a workshop on Saturday 28 March for students keen to enter the Rialto Channel 48 Hours Film competition in May.

They covered story, genre, character, colour, wardrobe, hair and make up, time management, storyboards, sound, light, editing and working effectively as a crew. We always have large numbers of students in teams competing in the Rialto 48 Hour Film competition, and for the past few years have dominated the school sections, and made it into the final top 12 films overall.

Our Animation Club has also had several Sunday workshops with Greg Wyatt working on creating 3D models with ZBrush and animating them.

James Checketts (Yr 10) has resurrected the Computing Club. He has enlisted ex-student, and computer wizard, Oscar McNoe, as tutor, who is studying Computer Programming at Otago uni this year. The group meet Thursday lunchtimes in Room 7.

Another new club, Anime has been established by Tayne Watson and Thijs  Aisi and meet on Monday and Friday lunchtimes in the Graphics room.  Everyone is welcome at all of the clubs.
