Science courtyard re-vamp by Yvonne Caulfield

Science Courtyard Re-vamp

The Science Department worked on re-developing our courtyard during Term Two. The work for this took place over a series of weekends.

We built frames and put several old bathtubs in place to create an aquatic environment to attract frogs and to grow native water plants. We also re-purposed one of the old tractor tyres that our now retired Physics teacher, Bruce McKinney, was fond of using as a teaching tool. It will now be a rather large planter for Ms Caulfield's yearly (year 9) Broad Bean growing competition. We are seeking donations of native water plants, if you have any that you are prepared to give us, please email Ms Caulfield on ymc@lphs.school.nz
