Congratulations to Tui Kaitai-Martin and Eva Woodhouse for their Mana Pounamu Young Achievers’ Awards.

Both young women have excelled again this year and are powerful young role models. 

Tui's long list of achievements include tutoring Kapa Haka, being on the organising committees for the School Formal and Race Unity celebrations, being a Maori Prefect, Formal Prefect, member of Dunedin Maori Youth Council, winning Dunedin public speaking competitions, as well as being awarded two prestigious tertiary scholarships: the University of Otago Māori Entrance Scholarship and a Victoria University of Wellington Totoweka Scholarship. 

Further recognition for Tui within the Mana Pounamu award, she is one of two students in Otago selected for the Untouched World Waterwise Programme in December. 

Eva continues to excel. She is an accomplished sportswoman with significant leadership roles.  As well as playing multiple sports, she is coaching a netball and basketball team, co-captaining our handball and basketball teams; is on our Sports Council and Girls Sports Council as well as being an Otago representative in Handball.  She was a member of our successful Get2Go multisport team who competed at nationals and she continues to achieve impressive academic results.
