Year 12 Snowboarding Trip by Danielle Frost

Year 12 Snow Boarding Trip

The year 12 Physical Education classes completed two Achievement Standards (7 credits) at the Remarkables ski field.

The first involved analysing risk management strategies; the second was performance in skiing or snowboarding. The students planned and prepared their own meals for the three days.

On the snow there was a lesson every morning, and then students had the rest of the day to hone their skiing skills.

Students progressed well over the three days, venturing to most parts of the mountain.

They were assessed on their ability to ski/ride in control, edge awareness, and turn shape on a variety of terrain.

A very successful trip that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
