Felt Monsters
From the beginning of Term Two the Learning Support Art class spent time developing skills in hand sewing.
Beginning with the skill building task of sewing on buttons, the students went on to learn the blanket stitch and running stitch.
The intention was to develop enough sewing skills to make a hand sewn felt monster. In order to design a monster template and think about colour, the students were given a template to begin with, from which they could change and develop as much as they wanted to suit their own idea. Almost complete, the pictures show some of the class during one of these sewing lessons.
