Co-Ed Winter Sports Tournament by Frankie Vella

Co-Ed Winter Sports Tournament

This tournament is a highlight on the calendar. It was great to win the Boys Football.

The Tournament between all co-educational schools allows for a superb day playing winter sport.   The emphasis is on participation but a trophy is at stake.  As I moved from sport to sport our students were giving their all and their smiles showed they were having a great day. Over a hundred of our students were involved in teams.

A highlight of the day was our Boys 1st XI Football team beating Kavanagh 1st XI in the final. At full time the score was drawn at 1-1. Harry Major had scored to equalize. With two outstanding saves by Eamon Lupton-Wilson our goalie, we took out the final. This is a significant win against a very good Premier Kavanagh side. Well done boys.

Our boys senior basketball team, girls senior basketball, girls 1st XI football and Curling teams all made finals which sees all of them placing second in their codes. Badminton placed 3rd.

Congratulations to senior girls and junior girl Basketball teams who were both awarded Team Fair Play awards.
