Midwinter Carnival by Alan Dove Photography

Dunedin Midwinter Carnival

Mary Locker, on stilts and a number of other Logan Park students entertained the Dunedin community in June.

Our students were involved in stilt-walking, dancing and carrying beautiful handmade lanterns as part of the Dunedin Midwinter Carnival. The carnival is a community celebration of winter utilising art and performance to create a unique and spectacular event.

An estimated crowd of 15,000 people spilled into the Octagon and crammed up the stairs of St Paul's Cathedral to watch the event. Performers carrying a variety of space-themed lanterns including UFOs, stars, rockets and moons paraded with over 800 marchers through the area.
