Support for Muslim whanau

The Student Council organised a special mufti-day as well as a bake sale and raised over $1,000 for the victims of the Christchurch attack.  Hundreds of our students and staff also wrote letters of support in a paper chain set up in the library and signed sympathy cards which were displayed at Dunedin's Mosque.  The Kapa Haka group performed a haka at lunchtime on Friday 22 March joining in with a national haka at the same time around New Zealand.   And many of our wider school community attended the Dunedin vigil at the stadium, lighting candles and offering support and solidarity during this difficult time.   At our Race Unity Assembly, Head Girl Alice Houston-Page spoke about the importance of religious and cultural diversity at our school and students observed a minute's silence.
