Ugly Shakespeare Show and Workshop by Dianne Dupres

Ugly Shakespeare Show and Workshop

120 Students enjoyed watching the travelling troupe of Ugly Shakespeare in March.

"The play was great fun and the workshop was really interesting."

The talented trio performed their version of 'The Taming of the Shrew', presenting the more thorny issues within the play with intelligence and humour. Such issues of misogyny and women being married off as property were raised and questioned through a modern lens as well as acknowledging how such concepts fitted into the historical world view. The three actors then took our students through a fast-paced and engaging workshop where many of the play's themes were deconstructed and examined.
