Year 10 Shakespeare by Christine Colbert

Junior Shakespeare Festival Term 2

Year 10 Drama classes presented their Shakespeare scenes in Manawa Toi Whaakari for their families and friends. 

The festival was adjudicated by the Fortune Theatre educator Shannon Colbert. The standard was extremely high and all the students made a strong growth in their skills.

The overall winning piece for the Junior Shakespeare Cup was from Taming of the Shrew with Alice Houston-Page and Abe Baillie and the Runner Up was from Twelfth Night Olivia Bradfield and Rosa Miller. Best Concept was from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cameron James-Pirie, Violet Gallop, Henry Eden Mann, Violet Cole McGlynn, Bella Sefo and Kacy Henley and they also shared the Comedy Honours with The Merry Wives of Windsor Zac Rudin, Jacoda Hunt and Leah Cooke-Mcdonnell and Much Ado about Nothing with Casper McGuire, Lichen Sorrel, Ziggi Kaitai Martin and Gabriel Kovacs. Best actor of the festival was awarded to Molly Stebbings.

It was a fun night and all the students can be proud of their achievements.
