You have heard about Climate Change, but have you heard our local expert Anita Wreford? Anita is our inaugural SAGE speaker and will talk about NZ’s recent policy and research initiatives.

She will discuss NZ’s position with regard to climate change, including recent policy initiatives such as the Zero Carbon Bill and the Adaptation Technical Working Group, and present some recent research reviewing the history of NZ’s research in climate adaptation. Anita has worked in the climate change area for 18 years, focusing particularly on adaptation to climate change in the primary sector. She is a lead author on an Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on Climate Change and Land, and will be a lead author on the Australasia chapter of the next IPCC Assessment Report beginning in 2019.

SAGE is putting on a series of seminars on sustainability topics. The other seminars this year will be on 15 August, 19 Sept, 17 Oct and 14 Nov.
