Te karere a te tumuaki

Brendan Wright —

Ridley and Maia gave an impressive korero at Rapaki Marae on Wednesday.

Representatives from our enviro group were invited to speak about the work Lyttelton Primary has done in the Port Saddle area and to support the launch of Whaka ora.  You may like to attend the harbour clean to celebrate the launch of the Whaka ora  Healthy Harbour Plan. Reminder that this starts at 4:30pm today. More info here.

We warmly welcomed Laszlo to Te kura tuatahi o Ōhinehou - Lyttelton Primary School today at our school assembly.  Great having you with us Laszlo and all the very best for the learning ahead of you!

Congratulations to the considerable number of children who received certificates in assembly today from our school swimming sports for your placings and successes.  We have a full team of 48 children attending the Zone Swimming Sports next Friday at Jellie Park. Kia kaha!

Well done to Tessa, Lada, Max T, Aarliah, Lisa, Laila, Sofia and Isaac for receiving a combined Principal's Award today for your work to ensure the PE shed issues and returns runs smoothly over break times. Keep it up.

We are required to publish our complaints procedures  for whānau parents and  caregivers. Fortunately we do not field very many complaints at all so thank you for coming to talk with us early if you have concerns. For more information please access our complaints procedures here and as always our school policies and procedures are all available in the 'School Information' tab.

We have 3 teachers attending the Paid Union Meeting next Tuesday with a further group attending on the 22nd of March. We have worked to minimise disruption to student learning. It is business as usual.

Please feel welcome to attend  a meeting for parents and whānau next Wednesday 7pm here at school to share our successes so far with Positive Behaviour for Learning and to gain some parent feedback for our next steps.  All welcome. Refreshments  provided!

I am fortunate to be visiting schools and attending the National Future Schools Expo and Conference  in Melbourne with principal colleagues from Aupaki the week of 19 to 23 March.  Lyttelton Primary continues to be future focused and the conference is an opportunity for your principal to keep abreast of latest international thinking and what's ahead for education.  Please note to new tab on our website for the latest news from Aupaki.

Have an enjoyable weekend everyone.
