Rakinui ki Rāpaki

On Tāite, some of our Tōtara students were welcomed onto Rāpaki marae alongside Raupō to spend the day learning about the wharenui, history of the area and features of the marae. This experience aligned well with our aspirations around place based learning and making meaningful connections within our community. The weather cleared just enough for the tamariki to frolic on the beach finding hot springs and crabs! They also enjoyed the kōrero from Maui about the different patterns in the wharenui, Wheke, including the 'stairway of knowledge.'
