Positive Behaviour For Learning
Lyttelton Primary School kicks 2017 off with a major focus on positive behaviour for learning. (PB4L)
PB4L is a highly effective initiative supporting New Zealand Schools, early childhood education, and whānau to promote positive behaviour and create inclusive learning environments that foster well-being and achievement for every child and student. We are very pleased to be starting on the PB4L initiative which has proven highly successful in numerous schools throughout the country.
Jane Morrison and Jeremy Orczy have key leadership roles to ensure the school implements and achieves success from new learning through PB4L along with the support of the school wide PB4L team of Francie, Rachel C, Dinah, Eve, Rhona and our RTLB, Jenny. (resource teacher of learning and behaviour) We will be communicating regularly with our school community about the progress through PB4L including new strategies and ways to support diverse needs.
It is widely recognised that the school's next step is to establish a clearer set of 'What is important to us?' words (values) so that together we can model, explore and teach the types of positive behaviours we wish to see in our young people. We look forward to involving YOU in an opportunity to contribute to our key 3-5 values which the school will model, explore and teach to the children with your support over the coming years.
Regular updates of our progress will be shared here so stay tuned for more...
