Our fun day at futsal in memory of Sayyad.

Some kids from Totara went to the Rec Centre to play Futsal with some of the muslim kids on Wednesday. 

We got split up into teams and played futsal all day. We had a break for lunch and had some delicious snacks and food. We did a song and a karakia and we basically had a futsal tournament all day. 

We got given yellow Lyttleton tops to wear, as yellow was Sayyad's favourite colour. Sayyad's mother organised the event and we weren't just celebrating Sayyad, of course, we were celebrating all the lives that were lost in the mosque shootings. 

At the end of the day we got to do our karakia and the muslims did there call to prayer and then we walked back to school. 

I think we can say on behalf of us all, we loved our time there and we would love to do it again some time. It also warmed the teachers hearts 💕
