On Friday the 17th of March, twenty of our students went the the swimming zones competition at Jellie Park

We all arrived at Jellie Park at 9am. There was a nervous excitement in the air. We found our designated seating area and got changed.

The freestyle races were first. Heats , then finals. All our racers did so well especially Dylan Dopleach who won his heat, then his final! He is now going to the Canterbury Swimming competition.

The next races were backstroke. Ngaio got second in her final and is off the the Canterbury competition also.

Our breaststroke racers did exceptionally well. many make their finals and Hugo got second in his final. Unfortunately he won't be here for the Canterbury competition.

Olive participated in the open butterfly race and got third. The girl who got second can't make the Canterbury competition so Olive will take her place.

After the individual races, there were the relay races. Each relay team had two girls and two boys. We had three relay teams: the 10 year olds, 11 year olds and 12 year olds. All our teams were very competitive.  A big shout out has to got to Arni who was in two relay teams - the 11 year old and the 12 year old. 

Overall, it was a great day. all our students did their best and supported each other. Well done team!
