A snapshot of what Tōtara have been up to this term

This term our inquiry focus has been around energy and forces. We integrated this learning into visual art through ink splatter paintings! Some even added digital features to bring them to life. We also looked at how simple machines have changed over time and wrote information reports about the evolution of the hammer. 

In Te Reo our focus has been around Matariki and describing the weather. For Matariki, Tōtara worked on a variety of activities on a digital explorer and had the task of creating animations or comics to share the phrases they had learned about the weather.

We would also like to congratulate all of our writers that entered the 'Speaking for the planet' speech and spoken word competition. Alexis and Alliya have been selected for the finals and will present their work at Tūranga on the 1st of July. They were two of 8 students who had completed writing workshops at Tūranga earlier in the term. Tino pai!
