Swimming Lessons
For the past two week our tamariki (students) have participated in Swimming Lessons.
As summer is here, children are increasingly likely to find themselves in or near the water. To some, this is a much anticipated opportunity for recreation and physical activity. But for those who can’t swim, being around water poses a serious threat of drowning.
Luckily, Aquatics is part of the New Zealand Curriculum and at Lyttelton Primary School we value the opportunity to support all our tamariki to 'learn to swim' and develop a life saving skill especially living in a country surrounded by water everywhere.
