The final bell is drawing near, the beach beckons!

The school library is closed for issues and we would appreciate books returned as soon as possible - please have a look around the house for any of our library books and drop them back as soon as you can!  Children will be given lists of any outstanding books early in December - any questions don't hesitate to get in touch.

Attached please find our notice for the Summer Reading Programme - hard copies are available from the office and classes.  If you are keen please return the completed form by Friday 30 November.  For ways to support your child/children with summer reading check out the National Library of New Zealand - Service to Schools. 

If you need a bag to hold all those great reads for the summer - we still have the LPS Summer Reading bag available for purchase - $15 (available from the office).  The money earned from these will be put back into the library!

PS - here is information on the CCC Libraries Summer Reading programme;

Our annual Summertime Reading Campaign 2018/2019 is beginning on 1 December and will run through to 28 February 2019. 

The competition will be running both online and in libraries – people can enter by picking up a postcard entry form from libraries or in the next edition of Huraina. They are also able to enter their details online if this is preferable.

All customers need to do is complete at least 5 reading experiences from the options listed on the challenge sheet and they are eligible to enter.

There are two separate competition categories running during this time:

• Children aged between 0 and 13 years of age inclusive.
• 13+ years of age inclusive.

Facebook Competition: We will be running Facebook competitions throughout the season for those who would like to ‘post’ their entries via this channel.

What are the prizes?  The prizes will include movie passes, book vouchers, and other Christchurch experiences for you and your family to enjoy over the summer.
