Te karere a te tumuaki
Kia ora koutou
We have certainly had our share of winter illness over the last couple of weeks. Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping unwell children at home to minimise the spread. Hopefully we are now turning the corner and have some warmer weather on the way soon!
Reminder here about the notice sent home via hero this week about how to get Rakinui Production tickets.....
Tickets are now on sale for our school production: Cabaret '23 - A celebration of the Arts
- Wednesday 16th August, with shows at 1.30pm and 6pm
We look forward to sharing our arts showcase with you.
- Thursday 17th, with shows at 1.30pm & 6pm
Tamariki, kaiako and whānau have enjoyed being at Rāpaki Marae this week to consolidate and learn more about tikanga, kawa and Matauraka Māori. Fostering our connections with Te Hāpū o Ngāti Wheke, and visiting our local marae is an important part of learning at school in Aotearoa New Zealand. We are fortunate to be able to so easily visit and share Manaaki with Ngāti Wheke. Koha this week has been a number of rākau (trees) and we have a few children heading back next week to plant them and nurture them through the coming months. Check out the articles in today's newsletter.
The feature article in today's newsletter is about the Peninsula Art Auction coming up soon! The Art Auction is an amazing fundraiser for the school and makes such a difference for what we can provide for the children and their learning. As in the article please mark your calendars for the 28th and 29th of October. If you haven't experienced the Peninsular Art Auction at Lyttelton Primary School yet you will be blown away with how our kura transforms into an amazing Art Gallery over night and there are some stunning artworks available for purchase! I am looking forward to seeing everyone there. Read all the details here.
Ngā mihi nui, Kia pai tō rā whakatā
Have a good weekend everyone.
