Harakeke were particularly excited about their first visit to Rāpaki Marae.

Here are some of the stories the tamariki wrote.

The other day we went to the Marae. First we did waiata and then we did hongi. Then we had kai. After the kai we had a long walk. We needed to look for little blue penguins and tuna and we went back to the Marae. We went home on the bus.

Yesterday we went on a bus. We went to Rapaki Marae. When we got there we got welcomed in and then we had some food. After that we went on a walk. We got to see an old school and then we looked for eels.

Yesterday Harakeke went to the Marae and we hopped on the bus. When we got to the Marae we put our bags in an office. Then we took our shoes off and came in to the Marae. Then they sang a song to us and we sang a song to them and we had kai. I had a cake and some orange and some apple and some pretzels. Then we went for a walk. Maui showed us a school, inside the school there was spider webs.
