School strike for Climate on March 15!

Orry C —

Children all over the world have been marching for their governments to take action NOW!

Dear Parents/Caregivers

My name is Orry and I’m a year 7 student at Lyttelton Primary School.

A while ago I saw on the news that children all over the world have been marching for their governments to act on climate change. My Wheke time project this term focuses on this.

After seeing the news I found a march had been organised for the children of Christchurch and I decided to try to get Lyttelton Primary School involved.

The march starts at 1pm on March 15 in  Cathedral Square.

On Monday I am presenting a speech to Raupo and Totara students and sharing some flyers.

Interested children will be given a permission notice to share and discuss with their parents. If they wish to be part of the march this would need to be signed and returned to Brendan by Friday 9th March.  I have talked with Brendan about my Wheke time project.

The school is NOT in charge of taking your child/children to and from the march or supervising them at the march.

Please discuss the strike with your child/children and encourage them to take part and make a difference for our climate and their future.
