Wednesday 1st of August at Hagley Sports Grounds.

Five teams competed in The Zones Winter Sport Tournament at hagley park on Wednesday 1st August. We had two Football teams and three Netball teams. We played in the year 7 & 8 Football team.

It was tough competition and we lost every game that we played except for a friendly game at the end which was a draw so we have decided that we need to practice more and harder to get better results. However we still made improvements such as; the goalies continually got better throughout the day and we demonstrated good sportsmanship and our school values.

The Year 7/8 B netball team went off to their court to play their first team, Heathcote, We beat them 6-3. We continued on to play Branford,Te waka Unua, then we played Sumner, one of our toughest matches, that was our first loss of the day. We them had a very close loss to St Annes leaving us in 3rd in the B division. It was a great day and our netball skills improved a lot by playing so many games in one day!

Well done to the Year 7/8 A Netball team who qualified  for the Canterbury Netball Competition. This is a huge achievement and we are very proud of them.  All the very best for the Canterbury's in week 5 of this term.
