Anyone can be an artist!
The Pāpaka whānau group (Whaea Beccy's) have been honing their drawing skills.
We used a guide that showed us how to break up the face into different sections so that all of our features are in the right place in relation to the other features. The tamariki had to really use their manawanui skills while they worked to make their self portraits the best that they could, which wasn't always easy. Their results are pretty fantastic as you will see in the video.
We are now working on a new project for self portraits of a different kind that use chalk, pastel and dye and have a more cartoonish look to them. Watch this space, whānau!
