Principal's Message
Pizza day for our term 2 Principal Award winners!
As we wrap up the end of term 2 I would like to take the opportunity to thank our staff for their hard work this term and especially over the last two weeks with a busy schedule of teaching and school events coupled with reporting requirements due. Have a very well deserved break.
Thank you also to our parents and whānau who have helped so much in the school, on trips and during school events over the term. The Festival of Lights was a highlight and I know the bioluminescent artwork was a hit with the children and the public. Thank you to Dr Souixsie Wiles for your support with this and to Gaynor Stanley for initially floating the idea. We had a wonderful team of parents supporting this science/arts initiative to make it a success so thank you for all for your help.
Some big news here! Congratulations to Jeremy Orczy who has been appointed to the Principal position at Seven Oaks School. Jeremy takes up his new role from the beginning of term 4. After a long association with education in Lyttelton Jeremy will be sadly missed by all and we look forward to celebrating his time with Lyttelton Primary School later next term.
Please check school bags tonight for your child's (ren's) mid year school report. Written reports are followed up with student learning conferences on the first Tuesday and Wednesday next term. More details here for how to book your meetings.
Thank you for the feedback received from the reporting to parents survey. Feedback is contributing to a review of reporting practices and a new approach to written reporting is being developed for the end of 2018. Please see the article and report of the survey feedback in the newsletter.
Have a relaxing and safe term 2 break everyone. Look forward to seeing everyone back refreshed for the new term starting on Monday 23 July.
Ngā mihi nui
Brendan
