Jenny Felton —

Thursday 25 May, 6.30-8.00pm, at Mount Pleasant School

Aupaki Kahui Ako is excited to offer another workshop for parents with a focus on 'Executive Functioning'.

Register here for this workshop

Executive Functioning skills are the ‘management system of the brain’. They are skills that let us set goals, plan and get things done. Most individuals have an arrange of executive functioning skills as well as weaknesses. When people struggle significantly with executive function, it impacts them at home, in school and life in areas such as: organisation, emotional control, working memory, time management and paying attention.

This workshop will introduce you to the concept of Executive Functioning, help you understand why your child may behave in the way they do, as well as give some tools to support your child and yourselves.

This workshop is run by Alison Schroeder, Speech & Language Therapist/Director of Socially Speaking. Socially Speaking provides social, sensory and communication support for children, teens and young adults. Alison has over 30 years’ experience as a speech & language therapist and also teaching children with special needs. Alison runs Socially Speaking alongside other speech & language and occupational therapists.
