Lots Happening in Raupō!

Grace Allfrey —

What a fantastic week we’ve had up in Raupō! Here’s a peek into our bustling activities:

Kororā Crafting at Naval Point Yacht Club

On Monday, a group of enthusiastic students ventured down to the Naval Point Yacht Club for a creative workshop. We learned to sculpt our own kororā (little blue penguins) using simple clay hand-building techniques. These charming creations will be dried and fired, and will feature in a large-scale outdoor penguin display this November at Naval Point, complete with a guided walking tour. We can’t wait to see our penguins on display!

Cricket Fun with Abigale

Tuesday brought a thrilling cricket session with Abigale from Canterbury Cricket. We honed our skills with drills focusing on aiming at stumps, batting, and fielding. The energy and excitement were palpable, and we’re already looking forward to our next cricket session next week.

Market Day Preparations

Market Day is fast approaching, and we are in full prep mode! Our writing focus this week has been on crafting detailed business proposals to ensure our market day stall’s success. We’ve also been busy designing eye-catching posters, planning our stall layout, and perfecting our products. We can’t wait to showcase our hard work and creativity next Friday when we reveal everything to our whānau and friends.
