Principal's Message

Brendan Wright —

Welcome back.  Children have quickly settled back into their learning at school for term 2.

Our 'Brake for Road Safety' parade down the main street was held today with the whole school dressed up in neon and other bright colours to kick off Road Safety Week.  A colourful sight!  Well done to our School Council for their organisation. $180 was raised to support Road Safety at school.  As we reinforce  road safety messages with the children over the next week, please share safety messages with your children at home.  Thank you for considering safe parking, pick up and drop off.

Learning spaces continue for the first part of term 2 with a science focus and teaching staff are looking forward to developing children's understandings through Social Science - Economic World.  Stay tuned for some budding young entrepreneurs running their mini business ventures at a market day later in the term...

Our School Assemblies are held every second week with our first for term 2 on Friday 12th May at 9:15am.  Parents, friends and family all welcome. Come and join us as well celebrate learning.

The Family Hub have their evening all organised for Wednesday 17 May with the Brainwave Trust presenting an informative and interesting evening on 'Growing Great Brains during Adolescence'.  Please see the Family Hub article and attached flyer for more details.  Highly recommended - book it in the calendar.

PB4L (positive behaviour for learning) continues as a school wide focus.  We are noticing some significant improvements in children's readiness for learning  and the application of RESPECT.  We are building on our successes every day.

Respect

  • Respecting Self
  • Respecting Others
  • Respecting Learning
  • Respecting the Environment

Children are in full swing with their preparation for the school cross country on Wednesday 17th May.   Keep it up everyone.

Four of our senior children are now involved in an enrichment opportunity held at Linwood College as part of an initiative started through the Bays Cluster.  We are pleased to be involved in this opportunity to further extend and enrich our children.
