Marshmallows with that?

Rita Norris —

Come along and have a read - meet your fellow readers and support a fun nationwide event (run by Book Discussion Scheme).

Bring Mum, Dad, Grandparents and yourself and meet in the Library at 6:30pm - find your spot and read or be read to .  Optional activities and finish with a hot chocolate and biscuit before heading off home to bed at 7:30pm!  Thanks to the Librarians (will be setting up during the day) and Family Hub (for the chocolate drinks and the biscuits)!

Spend 15 minutes or more reading for fun during the evening. Then register your participation (between 5pm & midnight) on the Book Night interactive map and be in to win fabulous prizes. Include a message and/or digital photo (optional)

The event has a serious side: highlighting the benefits of reading for children and adults. OECD research shows that reading for pleasure is the single most important indicator of a child’s future success. In adults, reading helps keep adults mentally alert and has positive effects on memory, stress levels, and the aptitude for imagination and compassion. Reading is great for health and wellbeing!
