Space Junk Machines

Nikeisha Clarke —

Designing machines to clean up the space debris in Earth's orbit.

Through our space inquiry in Term 1, Tōtara explored the issue of space debris and how there is currently no effective way of removing it from Earth's atmosphere. Their final task was to design a machine that was able to navigate space, collect and destroy space junk. First their designs were drawn and labelled to ensure they had all of the features required to be successful. They then wrote an explanation as to how their machine would get to space, communicate with Earth, and collect and destroy the debris. Finally, their prototype was created out of recycled materials and presented ready to share on Seesaw. Check out some of the results!
