He tino nui te reo rangatira ki te kura ō Ōhinehou i tēnei wiki.
Massive amounts of te reo fun have been happening at Lyttelton Primary this week.
We have had a wiki tino nui (huge week) this week. Nikeisha set us a huge wero with fantastic ideas for the week to build our knowledge of te reo and whakanui (celebrate) te wiki o te reo. Everyday the children took part in activities with their kura whānau groups.
Mane: We started our daily Blooket Quizzes.
Tūrei: We did more Blooket quiz but unfortunately, didn't get time to to build a team waka (because our production practises were a bit interruptive!)
Wenerei: We created a stunning artwork in our whānau groups.
Taite: We learnt something new with Nikeisha in Kapahaka.
Paraire: Today we participated in a massive tug-of war.
The children have earned points and prizes for their knowledge and use of te reo Māori this week. It has been a neat week of building our whānau connections.
When asked which activities were the most fun: Theo, Anna and George thought the Blooket quizzes were fun
Charlie loved the weaving when we did the artwork.
Indigo and Rita enjoyed the Māori game that we play for fitness on the spiderweb.
Blake loved the tug of war.
Sam and Addison enjoyed getting the whiwhi awards for speaking te reo.
Imogen enjoyed speaking more Māori and Nilla enjoyed learning new words in Māori.
What a great week. Wānanei te wiki.
