School Holiday theatre at the Lyttelton Arts Factory

Darryl Cribb —

This school holidays we have two Christchurch-based theatre companies offering up something for both the parents and the kids.  And to kick off the holidays we have our very own Lyttelton Arts Factory First Birthday Cabaret!

For the adults:

LAF Birthday Cabaret, Sat July 8th, 7:30pm.

Welcome to a night of birthday surprises from the team at the Lyttelton Arts Factory - the new home of the old Loons Theatre Company. It's our party but you get the presents! Come and unwrap an evening of your favourite performances, plus a few new birthday treats... More exciting than a new bike, more delicious than fairy bread or cherrios, and wilder than your 21st, join MC Lizzie Tollemache and her specially gift wrapped circus, music and comedy performers to celebrate one year of the Lyttelton Arts Factory, and many years still to come! See performances from Shay Horay, Mulletman, Skye Broberg, Carmel Courtney and more!
Hip hip Hooray!

Up'n'Under (Top Dog Theatre), July 12-22, 7:30pm.

Top Dog Theatre perform another classic comedy, written by John Godber. Set 'somewhere in the north of England' it centres on the amateur rugby team from the Wheatsheaf Arms who can only muster a side of four whose pride lies in their unbroken record of defeat.

And for the kids (of all ages!):

Skittles (Circotica Theatre), July 19-22, 2pm.

This is Sweet As Circus!
The Skittles are here to convince you that SUGAR IS GOOD.
Be astounded as they demonstrate the effects of different sugary-goods that
make them perform amazing feats of BALANCE, STRENGTH and ACROBATICS.
Will they persuade you to the benefits of a good-sugar diet? Or will they fizzle out in a sugar crash? Fun for all ages.
