Aupaki Tech Fest 2019
Registrations are open - This year, students in Years 5 to 8 have the opportunity to participate in the Aupaki Tech Fest.
Tech Fest is a two-day technology hui held in the Sumner School Hall for approximately 90 students from the seven schools that make up the Aupaki Kāhui Ako. Each attendee will choose a workshop to participate in for the 2 days, where they will work with a teacher and approximately 11 other students. The workshops will appeal to a range of children’s skills and talents such as technology, art, music, film, writing, engineering, creativity and problem solving.
When: Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 May, 9:00am to 2:30pm,
plus a showcase for whānau between 1:30pm and 2:30pm on Wednesday 22 May
Where: Sumner School Hall
Cost: $50. This cost includes a Tech-Fest t-shirt
Places are limited so please think carefully before choosing to register your interest. Children will need to enjoy thinking creatively, working co-operatively, using IT equipment, exploring new ideas and solving problems.
Attached at the bottom of this email is further information about what each of the workshops entail. If you would like to register your interest for Tech Fest, please click here and complete the Google Form. Please note, due to the limited spaces available submitting this form does not guarantee you a place in the workshops. This form will close at 4pm on Tuesday 7th May. You will be notified on Thursday 9th May as to whether your child has been selected for a workshop. Places are confirmed once payment for the workshop has been made. Payment must be made before Wednesday 15 May to guarantee the place. If payment is not received by Wednesday 15 May, another child will be selected for the place.
