Takaroa ran their hugely successful cross country last Friday, under a bright, blue sky.

The children had trained for weeks, learning how to properly warm up to avoid injuries, polishing their pacing technique and building running stamina. 

Finally the eagerly anticipated day arrived! I whiti te rā - the sun was shining! Despite a little crispness, we had blue sky all around. 

Some children were pumped, some were scared, some were nervous and some....didn't want to do it at all, but absolutely everyone participated and achieved their own successes. 

For many, it was a big deal persevering to the very end and we are so proud of their manawanui.
