Takaroa Performance: Fri, 18th October, 2.15pm

Takaroa Teachers —

Harakeke and Kowhai, will be performing a dance they have been working on as part of the inquiry - How do “The Arts” reflect the stories from Rāpaki?

We have put together a dance that encompasses the volcano that formed the crater of the harbour, the water washing in, the naming of the Whakaraupo, and an interpretation of the Tamatea Pōkai Whenua story.

For this performance, students are asked to dress in black or dark coloured clothing suitable for the dance such as bike shorts, leggings, t-shirts. Students will be dancing in bare feet. Can we please have their clothes for the dance in a named bag by Tuesday 15th October.

There will be a dress rehearsal on Wednesday 16th October for the senior school students to view our performance.

We invite all whānau and friends to come to our performance at the LAF theatre on Friday 18th October, 2.15pm.

Thank you from

Francie, Rowena, Janet, Dinah and Anne
