Principal's Message

Brendan Wright —

Kia ora, e te whānau. Farewell Arni and Solni. Haere rā

Svava, Hilmar and kids are off to Iceland this weekend.  All the very best with your travels and we look forward to welcoming you back in a couple of years!  Totara had a fantastic shared lunch and impromptu haka. Safe travels.

Next week brings the first Friday afternoon of Winter Sport at Hagley Park. This year we have 3 netball and two football teams involved.  If you are able to help support at all with team supervision please get in touch with Eve or Rita at the front desk.

Please access the term 2 newsletters for Takaroa and Rakinui here.

Congratulations and well done  to Rachel Ono who has been appointed to an Across School Teacher role for Aupaki kāhui Ako.  Three Across School Teachers have been appointed and will support  Aupaki to achieve its goals.  Rachel will continue to teach three days per week in Harakeke and we are appointing a suitable, experienced and  quality replacement teacher for two days per week.

Are you interested in Chess?  Do you have any spare chess sets you would like to donate to the school?  Lyttelton Primary would like to set up chess as an option for children over the winter months and any support with this would be much appreciated. Please come and see us if you have access to any chess sets we can use!

Te Reo me Tikanga enrichment starts next week for 4 Totara students at Linwood College.   Rachel O and Janet, as the lead team in this area are also attending a two day seminar  on Culturally Responsive practice at Canterbury University.   Ki te puku mahi, kia u te angitu (work hard to succeed)

Enjoy Mothers' Day on Sunday and have a good weekend everyone.

Ka kite ano

Brendan
