Kia Kaha te reo Māori!
Lyttelton Primary School - Te Kura Tuatahi o Ōhinehou have been enjoying celebrating Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori this week.
The student council and other senior leaders planned, organised and led a range of initiatives and activities this week in celebration of Māori language.
Apera led the whole school in a karakia each morning and before kai. Kaiako and ākonga led activities with a focus on te reo me ngā tikanga Māori including taiaha, poi, rakau, soap carving, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, kupu bingo, Tapu Ae games, whakatauki art works and a digital scavenger hunt. We finished off with a celebration assembly on Rāmere.
