Farewell Matua Steve!

Last week we held an official farewell for Steve Hira who has been our Kapahaka tutor for the past 3 years. He was a great asset who wrote a waiata for the Aupaki schools and supported our tamariki at multiple events. We would like to again share our thanks to him for his service! Ngā mihi nui ki a koe!

Next year, Maaka Tau alongside Daniel-James MacDonald from Nga Whanaunga Haka o Te Pa will be taking over the leadership of our rōpū. Maaka previously taught Kapahaka at Lyttelton Main and West, and we look forward to welcoming him back at our first mihi whakatau for 2025.
