School and Zones Cross Country

Rachel Cummins —

As told by Matai and Jasper

On Tuesday the 21st of July at Ferrymead, the whole school had cross country. It started by going from the year eights down to the year one. In Totara we had to run 3km, in Raupo they had to run 2km, in Kowhai they had 1km, and finally in Harakeke they ran one lap around the field. Everybody seemed to try really hard to complete their course and some even smiled as they crossed the finish line.

Then on Tuesday the 28th July some of the Rakinui students went to the zones where we were representing the school in front of other schools in our zone. Those students who got 6th or better go to the Canterburys. They are:

  • Iris from Raupo
  • Sinclair and Matai from Totara

The Canterburys will be held on the 12th August.

We found it fun running in the zones even though it was freezing and very windy.
