Principal's Message
Kia ora koutou
Welcome back everyone the term 2. We have an exciting term planned of learning, events and community. Good to see you all this week.
We ran a parent evening on Wednesday to consult on our Health Curriculum at Lyttelton Primary School. Over the evening we presented an overview of Health and PE from the New Zealand Curriculum, reviewed the LPS long term plan overview for health, and had some questions and discussion. This meeting follows a survey to families via email and the school newsletter. Our next steps are to prepare a statement in draft, give members of the school community an adequate opportunity to comment on the draft statement and consider any comments received.
The start of term 2 has been smooth with learning programmes fully underway. We are excited to have Mana Ake now starting in Aupaki kahui ako and look forward to have Mana Ake kaimahi out and about in our school soon. Read more here about Mana Ake including bios about our Mana Ake kaimahi and a very informative Mana Ake information Pamphlet for parents and whānau.
Please review some important information in today's newsletter about our school cross country coming up, Aupaki Tech Fest, the coming Board Elections and the PB4L term 2 focus on emotional regulation.
Stay tuned for the Takaroa and Rakinui floor newsletters being emailed out to families early next week. Heads up that we are planning to run a 'bright day' next Friday to coincide with Road Safety week and will be parading through the community after the school assembly.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Ngā mihi
Brendan
