Kids tree climbing 'Climb a tree - get one free' 17 -18 Sept at Orton Bradley Park
On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 Sept some of NZ (and the world’s!) best tree climbers will be battling it out for the top South Island titles. Tree Climbing is the national sport of arborists (tree care professionals) and its pretty impressive to watch. What’s more there is a ‘have a go’ activity for kids in the park, and a free baby tree for the first 50 kids to take home …‘Climb a Tree – Get one Free’! Get on down to Orton Bradley Saturday (9 and 4pm) and Sunday (9 – midday) to get involved.
Ever wondered what the bird’s see up there in the trees? Get down to Orton Bradley, to not only meet a bunch of cool arborists that climb trees for a living, but have a go yourself! Kids will wear a special safety harness and with the help of our NZ ARB arborist experts, will get to climb a tree (as high as they are comfortable) and check out a view usually reserved for the professionals and birds! What’s more you’ll go home with your own free tree!
This event is run by trained tree climber volunteers and organised by the New Zealand Arboricultural Association. Safety is an absolutely priority for our arborist volunteers running this event, however parents/guardians are required to sign a consent and waiver form.
