In a truly collaborative project students have been working hard all term on four areas of show production - acting, music, costume & mask design and promotion. LPS has pulled in the talent of local professionals Mike Friend (acting), Tony Geddes (mask & costume creation), Pete Evans (original music) and Fleur de Thier (dance and movement).

Animal Farm is an adaptation of the book written by George Orwell. Over the last few weeks students from Year 5 - 8 at Lyttelton Primary School have been creating masks, researching and marketing while rehearsing under the direction of Mike Friend.

When the downtrodden animals of Manor Farm overthrow their master Mr Jones and take over the farm themselves, they imagine it is the beginning of a life of freedom and equality. But gradually a cunning, ruthless élite among them, masterminded by the pigs Napoleon and Snowball, starts to take control. Soon the other animals discover that they are not all as equal as they thought, and find themselves hopelessly ensnared as one form of tyranny is replaced with another.

With only four performances, this is one show you'll want to book early for!
