Our Stories Project

Lyttelton Primary School —

For three years, our students have been helping with a local oral history project called Our Stories.

A few volunteers from years 4-8 have been interviewing people who grew up in Lyttelton and recording their amazing stories. The first of these stories have now been released as a location-based app (it’s online and in the app store - find the links at www.ourstoriesproject.org). You might also spot some stickers around town that say “There’s a story here!” You can scan these with your phone camera and it will take you to the story of that place. There’s one on the school gate! Have you tried it? As we are all about place-based learning, we encourage you to discover these places with your children. If you grew up in Lyttelton, you can sign up to share your stories this year by emailing kris@place-casting.comYou can see some photos and listen to the children’s introduction to the Lyttelton tour here at the new fundraising page for this project:https://www.patreon.com/ourstoriesproject
