Tōtara's Rec Centre Fridays
A mixed group of year 7 and 8 students took up the challenge to experience physical activities organised by Nathan Mauger at the Lyttelton Recreational Centre during Friday lunch times.
The aim for our tamariki was to participate in planned physical activities in a movement and games context. The Ākonga shared their knowledge of warming up and stretching exercises before Nathan got the group into warm up games, which got competitive!
Varied ball skills, invasion games, basketball, football, dodgeball were all sports games that the kids got involved in, with a focus on improving communication, teamwork, sportspersonship for our Tōtara students. A big thank you to our Rakinui team leader Emily, for organising this Health and Physical Education learning experience for both our Raupo and Tōtara ākonga.
