Values at Lyttelton Primary School

Jane Morrison —

Thank you for all your feedback for our review of school values.

Our next step is to discuss these results with the Board of Trustees before we move forward to finalise the 3 to 5 words which best encompass the desired values of the school community. These will be explored, modelled, taught and embedded throughout the school over time. The intention is to have school values which are clearly visible and alive through everyday actions in our school community.  Our focus on 'Respect' has been an excellent start with children now far more aware of what this looks like at school across a variety of settings and contexts.

The PB4L school wide team has been busy collating the data from our recent hot dotting sessions during our Learning Celebrations and throughout the last two weeks  of term 2.

We are excited to share these findings with you.  As a staff the values selected with the most votes were kindness, respect, manaakitanga and perseverance.

Over 100 parents  voted, and respect, kindness, empathy and creativity were voted most important.

Our student feedback showed environmental awareness, respect, honesty and creativity as the values with the most votes.
