Artists' Workshops
The highlight this week was, without a doubt, the Artists Workshops held on Monday.
I would like to thank Andrea Solzer and Ruth Conner who arranged for ten local artists to take a 1.5 hour workshop here at school. Without them, this collaboration would not have got off the ground. We had Caine Tauwhare making Maori Masks, Liliana Sequeira and Mario teaching Urban Sketching, Alex Hallatt taking Cartooning, and Jessie Rawcliffe teaching how to paint a native bird. Kim Hennessy took a workshop on Charcoal Drawing, Kate McRae tutored our children on Collage, Ari Nicholson taught a group to make Stop Motion Movies, Joe Bowen taught the skills of rope making, and Jacob Chick taught a group to take photos using real (old school) film! Some amazing work was produced, and everyone had a fantastic morning. Our greatest thanks to all the artists who gave up their time to teach their skills to our students.
