Last week I visited a dozen or so of our youngest tamariki at Lyttelton Primary School.

This was during Level 3, and we were socially distanced; meeting just at the gate. It was such a joyous experience for me, to see the children and their parents, all of them happy, and settled, enjoying their slower pace of life. A lot of quiet family time has been going on. 

When school starts again on Monday, we will be aware that the children will take some time to reconnect and relax back into school life. Be assured that wellbeing needs will be acknowledged first and foremost, before learning will happen. 

We are all very excited about seeing you at school again on Monday.
